LPT: Do not feel obligated to take surveys that companies give you online or after speaking with customer service. They are outsourcing their quality control to you without compensation. submitted by /u/JackConch
LPT: Stupid people don’t need a reason to be stupid. This will save you from future worries. The logic that floats through your head doesn’t float through theirs. Reason doesn’t work with those who don’t/can’t/refuse. submitted by /u/searchingforlight23
LPT: beforentraveling in potentially unsafe countries, go to the bank and ask what the lowest value currency they have is and take out $100 worth This will leave you with a fat stack of actual money. Keep this in a money clip, seperate from your travelling money. If you ever get robbed, you can give the thieves this money, they are likely to run off with this feeling they made a big score. submitted by /u/Obvious_Exercise_910
LPT: You can deny apps from showing ads in the settings of your phone for free. Tired of seeing ads in mobile games but you don’t want to turn off your WiFi/Data? Go into settings, then apps, then find your app of choice and find a setting along the lines of “Connection method” and disable WiFi and data. This will disable internet connection for only that app. submitted by /u/id_say_at_least_two
Could someone explain what’s causing this / how it works? I’m sorry if this is the wrong sub I wasn’t sure where to post this and I can’t find an answer anywhere. I took a photo of the sun during the eclipse (don’t worry I didn’t stare at the sun myself w/o protection) and you can see where I circled my camera is clearly picking up the eclipse but like somehow it’s showing it in a totally different pla…

Shooting my sister’s wedding in a month with zero experience. Where should I start? My sister is getting married next month and she asked me a month ago if I would do the photos because I have a DSLR ( Canon t100)and her budget for a photographer is nonexistent. I told her that I might not be the best choice as I have no real photography experience outside of playing around from time to time and this is well outside of ability….
Seeking Input: Wainscoting Solution for Townhome Hello, friends! I’m dealing with chairs constantly bumping into walls and seeking a lasting fix. I’m considering adding a chain rail and wainscoting paneling, but I’m unsure if it would seem odd to apply these only to two walls in my townhome, which has an open concept. The carpenter I’m hiring suggests doing under the window and stairs, but I’m…
Interior design course help! Taking an interior design course and loving up. Me and my husband can’t figure out if the window pictured is tall and thin or wide and short. New to reading these kind of plans! Sorry if this isn’t the best place to post. submitted by /u/Jjw19
Sconce spacing I just put these up- our room layout forces everything to be off center towards the window (we have a pop up trundle that turns the bed into a king) The sconces just aren’t pleasing my eye: Are they too too high? Too close together? Shades too big? Please excuse the mess, this room is in transition before I paint. I wanted to mess around with pl…
Not sure what to do with this space. Ideas? (Sorry about mess) Hello! First time home owner here and would love ideas with what to do with the space underneath the window. I’d love some more counter space since…well, the counter space on the left is literally all I have to work with. Any ideas would be great! I thought about either building or buying a tabletop right underneath the window that can house …

Choosing between countertop options. I’m painting my uppers white dove and lowes are escape gray (green gray) Floor is a bit darker oak. I’m debating between countertop options. Miami Vena quartz Colonial Ice granite and honed black nero mist. Backsplash will be a warm white tile. I like the brightest of the quartz but it feels a little plain. We have 57 sq feet of countertop so …
How to update recessed fluorescent light box lighting? I’m starting to plan out a remodel on this very dated kitchen. I’ve got an electrician coming for a list of other work, and was wondering if I could also update the kitchen ceiling lighting to be more modern. The ceilings are 8′, and the photos don’t lie, this is a dark space with that window as the only light source. It needs more diverse and f…
